Abstract

This study aimed to determine the 5 most common pulmonary conditions admitted in DLSUMC and referred to rehabilitation from January to March 1999. A descriptive study using the record book of DLSUMC and the patient logbook of DLSUMC-DPMR was use to gather information, Information elicited includes the type of pulmonary condition of patients admitted and referred to rehabilitation and the distribution of patients as to age and sex. The researchers had classified the pulmonary conditions as to COPD and RDL. All in all 326 subjects were used in the study. From the information gathered, the age bracket of 1-10 years old had the majority of the distribution of patients. Male patients dominated the female. And it was concluded that patients with pulmonary conditions was seldom referred to rehabilitation. The researchers have come up with recommendations on how to increase the number of pulmonary patients being referred to rehabilitation.
