Abstract
Study was conducted at four selected Cavite Hospitals such as De La Salle University Medical Center, Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial Foundation, St. Dominic Medical Center and Andres Bonifacio Memorial Hospital from January 1998 to December 2001. Among 2,167 referred patients, the most common cases are Stroke, Fracture, Lung Disease, Arthritis and Low Back Pain. This study also revealed that Males were mostly affected with Fracture, Stroke an Lung disease while females were commonly affected by Arthritis. Other results showed that patients seen in childhood and odolescent age group were mostly affected by fracture while Arthritis, Stroke, lung disease and Low Back Pain were common in adults. The data gathered serve as an additional source of information on what are the cases that needs special skills and mastery in preparation with the hands on treatment with actual patients and will inform the faculties, healthcare givers, community as well as incoming interns on the five most common referred rehabilitative case that will help them in education about the proper prevention concerning this cases.
