Abstract
This is a descriptive study that determine the prevalence of upper extremity musculoskeletal pain among badminton players in Ltus Badminton Court Lotus Mall Imus, Cavite. A total of 300 badminton players were included through a purposive sampling. The result of this research study yield a prevalence rate of 57% which only means that half of population in that badminton establishment have problems in their upper extremity either brought about by playing badminton or other previous complaints. The researchers found out that in terms of age Upper Extremity Musculoskeletal Pain are common among subject 19 years old (36%). On the other hand, in terms of gender, men (51%) are more predispose to pain compared tp female (49 %). As to the playing history, Upper Extremity Musculoskeletal Pain mostly occurs to players who had been playing for 12 months (58%) thrice a week (34%) and for 120 minutes (37%). In conclusion, the most common area of complain as to sociademograpic profile and playing history of the badminton player that this research yield is the shoulder region, wherein it is said to be prone to overuse repetitive injury in this field of sport.
