Abstract

The researchers conducted the study to determine the most common treatment preferences of physical therapists regarding shoulder subluxation of stroke patients in selected in selected rehabilitation centers in Cavite. The researchers used a descriptive type of research to determine the most common treatment preferences of Physical Therapists for the management of shoulder subluxation among patients with stroke. the study was conducted at selected PT rehabilitation centers in Cavite namely; Emilio Aguinaldo College- Imus Satellite PT/Ot clinic, Noveleta Rural Health Unit, St. Dominic Med. Center, ACC Physical therapy clinic in Noveleta, JPMH-Dasma Cavite, Medical Center Imus, Cavite Naval- Hospital, Eight Physical Therapy Clinic (Estrella Hospital), Comprehensive Physical Therapy Service (Bautista Hospital), De La Salle Med. Center-Dasma and GEAMH in Trece Martires. A total of 50 Physical Therapists were included in this study to determine the most common treatment preferences for the management of shoulder subluxation among patients with stroke in selected Rehabilitation Centers in Cavite. However, our respondents should be qualified and permitted by the department to do the training. Those respondents should be licensed PTs. The results of the study gad shown that majority (98%) of respondents used ultrasound for electrotherapy as preferred treatment for shoulder subluxation a of stroke patients; majority (96%) used HMP (Hot moist pack) for Hydrotherapy as preferred treatment for shoulder subluxation of stroke patients; majority (96%) used ROM exercises as Therapeutic exercises as preferred treatment for shoulder subluxation of stroke patients; majority (82%) of them used sling for orthotic devices as preferred treatment for shoulder subluxation of stroke patients. Among 50 preferred treatment for shoulder subluxation of stroke patients. Among 50 respondents, majority preferred Ultrasounds for electrotherapy, HMP for hydrotherapy, ROM for therapeutic exercises and Sling for orthotic. Devices in shoulder subluxation of stroke patient. In conclusion, the most common preferred treatment for shoulder subluxation of stroke patients is ultrasound with percentage of 98%.
