Abstract

A survey measuring the level of awareness regarding the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries was conducted to ballet dancers at Ballet Philippines. Demographic data showed that respondents were ranging from 11 to 30 years old (mean age: 15 y/o). 18 females and 12 males, 16 (53.33%) of them in the college level and 20 (66.67%) had history of musculoskeletal injuries were included in the study. Results showed that the ballet dancers had moderate awareness as to predisposing factors with an overall mean of 2.74. They are highly aware as to preventive measures garnering an overall mean of 3.81. They had moderate awareness as to aggravating factors with an overall mean of 2.93. Based on the 3 categories, an overall mean of 3.16 was computed showing moderate awareness as to prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.
