Abstract

This is a descriptive study that determined the Physical Activities of Physical Therapy Student Batch 2007 in De La Salle- Health Sciences Campus Student Batch 2007 that participated on the study. The participants were given questionnaires about the physical activity they do and the different parameters that is involve in the activity. The data collected were tallied, presented into frequency tables & was analyzed descriptively. Most of the student have a normal body mass index; it corresponds to 70.24% of the total population followed by the overweight category which is comprised of 15.48%, a total of 9.52% for the overweight category and 4.76% for the obese category. From total of 84 respondents, 49 engage in physical activity (58.33%) and 35 does not engage in physical activity (41.67%). the respondents' top reason for engaging into physical activity is to loose weight (40.82%) followed by to increase cardiovascular endurance (20.41%), for aesthetic purpose (14.29%), to increase muscle strength (12.24%). Results of this study showed that the respondents are physically active by engaging themselves in physical activities. Different types of parameters were given to determine whether they meet the recommended measures. These parameters serve as guidelines when engaging in exercise or sports activity. As such, the outcomes were also measured using the parameters. the authors concluded that the College of Physical Therapy students of De La Salle-Health Sciences Campus Batch 2007 is group who engage in physical activities, whether in a sport activity or exercise activity
