Abstract

This is a descriptive type of study that determines the relationship of demographic and professional factors and level of job satisfaction among the Physical Therapy graduates of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute Batch 2000-2009. The researchers used a convenience sampling method as a means of gathering their respondents. They adapted and modified the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire and distributed it through Facebook and Yahoo Groups using the Form Site including the consent form, brief orientation of the study informing the respondent about the objectives and the significance of the study and they provided hard copies of the questionnaire with the consent form to some respondents who are in reach. The data gathered were tallied, tabulated and analyzed descriptively. The findings show that the respondents of the study are moderately satisfied (MSR = 3.93) with their job. Specifically, the study described that their satisfaction is related to their age (MSR=3.90), gender (MSR=3.95), and civil status (MSR=3.93). As to professional factors, the respondents of the study are also moderately satisfied in relation to the following factors: job information (MSR=3.83), relationship with others (MSR=4.27), working conditions (MSR=4.18), while they neither satisfied nor dissatisfied in relation to the following factors: salary (MSR=3.37), benefits (MSR=3.36), promotion and professional growth (MSR=3.47). Batch 2001 and 2002 are very satisfied as to demographic factor while only batch 2001 is very satisfied as to professional factor. therefore, the researchers conclude that both the demographic factors and professional fatrs have a relationship on the level of job satisfaction but in varying degrees. The authors then recommend that a qualitative study on the other factors that affect the level of job satisfaction of the Lasallian PT graduates be conducted in the future.
