Abstract

A cross-sectional quantitative analytical design was used. Using convenience sampling, a total of 350 millennials ages 21-41 years old who are currently smokers living in Cavite, Philippines participated in the study. The questionnaire used in the study was developed by the researchers following an extensive review of related literature, the review provided an insight in the development of the questionnaire. Data was analyzed through Kendall's Tau Correlation and Mann-Whitney U Test. The study concluded that the millennials have good knowledge and perceptions towards smoking cessation, but age did not significantly affect their knowledge or perceptions. Demographics had a significant correlation towards smoking and the discontinuation of smoking habits. This study substantially provided significant cognizance into health education in tobacco use and cessation.
