Abstract
This study utilized a cross-sectional study. The researchers utilized convenience sampling strategy. A total of 316 participants out of 1,664 students from 6 different colleges were gathered for the study. The study used the questionnaire of Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS21) developed by Lovibond and Lovibond. Descriptive statistics were used including mean scores as well as Spearman' rho and Cramer's V. Results showed that the amount of screen time used for recreational purposes and academic purposes ranges from 2 to 6 hours per day and 4 to 8 hours per day, respectively. In general, the respondents were reported to have moderate levels of depression and stress and severe levels of anxiety. I t was also found that screen time has positively extremely weak correlation with anxiety level, while varying trend have been observed depending on the specific program the students belong to. This study showed that there is a relationship between the undergraduate students' screen time and mental health status. It is crucial that HEIs review their academic policies to safeguard the wellbeing of students while maintaining the quality of education and training in their institutions.
