Abstract

This study answered the following question: 1. To determine the effectivity of Sigang-Dagat with acid compound in the treatment of scabies in terms of cure and duration. 2. To determine the effectiveness of Sigang-Dagat when its acid compound has been properly isolated in terms of cure and duration. 3. To determine if there is a significant difference between Sigang-Dagat with acid properly isolated in the treatment of scabies in terms of cure and duration. A sample of 30 respondents divided into group A and B treated with Sigang-Dagat with acid compund and sigang-dagat with acid properly isolated, respectively. Convinient sampling was utilized in the selection of respondents. Based on the above findings, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. In terms of cure, the Sigang-Dagat ointment with acid compund revealed significant changes. As observed when the wound started to dry and with noticeable formation of scabs while it took the scabies shorter days to heal. 2. Sigang-dagat ointment with acid compound properly isolated showed of start of wound healing and achieved a longer number of healing days. 3. Based on the findings, there was no significant difference between the levels of effectiveness of the two ointments. Both preparation were equally effective in the treatment of scabies.
