Abstract

The study also looked into the influence of age and gender that brought about difference in their performance; thus, determining the significant relationship among the three classified nursing roles. The study was centered on the self-assessment of the eight-eight (88) nursing students at the De La Salle University - Aguinaldo batch 1997 towards those three nursing roles. Considered that brought about difference in performing said roles. The study revealed that the junior nursing students were most competent with their role as member within the discipline of nursing. Followed with their role as provider care and as a manager of care. It also revealed that each nursing role is significantly related to each other. And comparing the perfromance of the respondents towards these nursing roles considering their age, there existed a significant difference in performance that the late adolescent are more competent than that of the early adults towards role as care provider. Considering their gender, the researchers saw a significant differences on their performance as member within the nursing discipline that female are more competent than male. In the light of the above findings, the researcher concluded that there is a significant relationship among three nursing roles. There is a significant differences 17-18 and 19-21 as provider of care. There is also a significant difference between male and female respondents on their performance as member within nursing discipline.
