Abstract

Specifically this study concept to: 1. Find out the profile of the female commercial sex workers in two selective sites in Cavite in terms of age, educational attainment, family income, number of siblings and position in the family. 2. Determine the level of the outlook in life of female commercial sex workers. 3. Find out the differences in the level of outlook in life when they are grouped according to age, educational attainment, family income, number of siblings and ordinal position in the family. The respondents of the study were thirty (30) sex workers currently residing in two selected sites in Cavite, namely: Pala-Pala Dasmariñas Cavite and Cavite City. The manager of the club chose the respondents. The age group included in this study were from 18-25 yrs. old.  The following findings resulted from this study: 1. Most of the respondents were below 20 years old. And reached their elementary level. Almost all of them earned at low salary rate. Most of the respondents have five siblings. Most of them were eldest in the family. 2. The level of the outlook in life of the respondents is highly positive. This was supported by the average mean of 4.28 percent. 3. the age, educational attainment, family income, number of siblings and ordinal position in the family was not related to their outlook in life. In the light of the findings in the study, the following conclusions were drawned. 1. Most of the female commercial sex workers in the selected sites in Cavite were still young. Most of them were literate since they had reached elementary education. Many of them earned at low salary rate. Most of the respondents were eldest in the family and have five siblings. 2. The female commercial sex workers had highly positive outlook in life. In most cases, the respondents engages in prostitution so that she can "strengthen ties within the family at the same time by supporting their families." They are engage in prostitution so that she can use the money she earns to financially support her family thru what they earn. Often, the eldest daughter will sacrifice her future in order to improve the family's situation. Moreover, parents believed that they have ownership over the child an thus sell the sexual services of their daughters. The parents use the child's body in order to obtain "modern comforts and luxury items." The impoverished family justifies its action by considering a means to improve the family's life. 3. There is no significant differences to the level of the out look in life of female commercial sex workers, across age, educational attainment, family income, number of siblings, and ordinal position in the family.
