Abstract

The type of research design was used in this study was a descriptive type of research. The respondents of the study were 50 clients undergoing hemodialysis from Metro Dialysis Center, Anabu II, Cavite. The clients were chosen through purposive sampling wherein the researcher chose the subjects who are judged to be typical of the population in the question or particularly knowledgeable about the issues under study. A structured questionnaire developed by the researcher was utilized in this study. The information used in developing the questionnaire was gathered from literatures related to the subject and from informal interview from the people in the community. The statistical treatment utilized in the study were frequency distribution and simple percentage, f-test, and t-test. 1) In terms of educational attainment, most of the respondents were college level. Majority of them had a monthly family income of P10,000.00 and below. Most of them undergoing hemodialysis for one year and above; 2) The perception of the respondents regarding kidney transplantation had a mean of 3.86 which implies that the respondents generally had a positive perception regarding kidney transplantation as a modality of treatment for end-stage renal disease; 3) Educational attainment, family income, and length of time undergoing hemodialysis showed no significant relationship on the treatment for end-stage renal disease.
