Abstract

A descriptive, non-experimental type of research was employed in conducting the study. The respondents were two hundred fifty patients at the De La Salle University Medical Center. A self-made questionnaire on the perception in the level of satisfaction of selected patients on the care rendered by the staff nurses at DLSUMC was used as the main tool in this research undertaking. The statistical treatment utilized in the stud were percentage, mean, t-test of independent means, and f-test. 1) Most of the respondents of the study consisted of patients who belong to the 21-40 years old group, or the young adult, females, married, on a private room, under medicine and had been admitted for 1-2 days; 2) The level of satisfaction of the patients on physical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspect of care is not affected when grouped accordingly to sex and length of hospitalization. The respondents were moderately satisfied in all aspect of care rendered by the staff nurses of DLSUMC; 3) The level of satisfaction of the patients on a physical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspect of care is affected and shows a significant difference when grouped accordingly to age, civil status, type of accommodation and illness classification.
