Abstract
he researchers utilized descriptive research. The stud was composed of one hundred eight six (186) or thirty percent (30%) of the total population of the senior high school students of Dasmarinas National High School DBB-C, Dasmarinas, Cavite. The respondents were male and female ranging from 15-17 years old. The close-ended questionnaire formulated by the researchers was used. The statistical treatment utilized in the study were mean, relative frequency in percentage, t-test for two independent samples, and f-test. 1) Majority of the respondents were males, whose monthly family income was P5,000 and below, eldest child in the family and whose father was employed; 2) The perception of respondents on responsible fatherhood showed the highest mean in the provision of basic needs, second is guidance, third is advocacy and the lowest computed mean showed was protection. The respondents believed that provision of basic need was the number one responsibility of the father and considered as the biological need in the Maslow’s hierarchy of needs; 3) The respondents perception on responsible fatherhood has a significant difference when they are grouped according to monthly family income, ordinal position in the family and paternal employment. That whose monthly family income of P5,000 and below, whose ordinal position in the family was eldest and whose fathers were employed has the highest perception on responsible fatherhood.
