Abstract
The study used a non-experimental descriptive type of research. The respondents of this study were community health nurses, which comprised 60 nurses withdrawn from the total population of 102 community health nurses in selected municipalities of Cavite under upland, lowland, and coastal areas considering their age, civil status, rank, length of working experience, and type of municipality. To gather data, a checklist type of questionnaire to assess the performance status of community health nurse’s functions was adapted from the Department of Health (DOH) based on the issued roles and functions for community health nurses. The statistical treatment utilized in the study were frequency, mean, and f-test. 1) The profile of the respondents showed that majority of them were 21-30 years old, married, belonged to nurse 1, had 1-5 years of working experience, and lived in lowland areas; 2) The overall performance status of community health nurse’s function was assessed as oftenly- performed functions; 3) The performance status of community health nurse’s functions was the same regardless of age, civil status, rank, length of working experience and type of municipality; 4) There were no significant differences in the performance status of the respondents’ function when grouped according to age, civil status, rank, length of working experience and type of municipality.
