Abstract
Specifically it aimed the following: 1. To know the profile of surgically-menopaused women in terms of age, educational attainment, employment status, and socio-economic status. 2. To determine the common physical and emotional changes experienced by surgically-menopaused women in terms of age, educational attainment, employment status, and socio-economic status. 3. To know the significant differences on physical and emotional changes experienced by surgically-menopaused women when grouped according to age, educational attainment status, and socio-economic status. The following are the major findings of this study: 1. Majority of the respondents is in the age group of 41 to 50 years old, which belongs to 53.3 percent of the population. In terms of educational attainment (40%) majority belongs to the college group. Most of the respondents are employed (40%). The majority of their income (36.8%) ranged from P4,000 and below. 2. The physical and emotional changes that are mostly experienced were as follows: hot flashes, joint pain and fatigue with a mean score of 2.27 respectively. While moodiness, irritability and health conscious are the most common emotional changes being experienced. 3. The factors that have no significant differences in terms of physical change were the following: age with a computed F-ratio of 0.59 and socio-economic status (2.55). Whereas, educational attainment and employment status have significant difference with a computed F-ratio of 5.50 and 4.61 respectively. In terms of emotional changes there is no significant difference on age with a computed F-ratio of 0.58, employment status with a computed mean of 2.92 and 1.12 for the computed F-ratio of socio-economic status. Educational attainmnet has a significant difference on the emotional changes with a computed F-ratio of 4.45. Respondents that belong to the elemenatry and those who are self-employed revealed that there is a significant difference on the physical and emotional revealed that there is a significant difference on the physical and emotional revealed that there is a significant difference on the physical and emotional changes experienced by selected surgically-menopaused women. Based on the above findings the following conclusions were drawn: 1. There is no significant difference in the physical changes experienced by selected surgically-menopaused women when group according to age and socio-economic status. On the other hand, there is no significant difference on the emotional changes experienced by selected surgically-menopaused women when group according to age, employment status and socio-economic status. 2. There is no significant difference on both physical and emotional changes experienced by selected surgically-menopaused women group according to educational attainment and employment status.
