Abstract
The descriptive type of research design was used in the study. The respondents of the study consisted of mothers having children 1-4 years of age in selected areas in Cavite. The researcher instrument that was used in conducting the stud was self- made questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of beliefs and practices about the traditional management of acute respiratory tract infection I children 1-4 years old. The statistical treatment used in the stud were frequency distribution mean t-test, and f-test. 1) In terms of age, most of the respondents were in the 31 years old and above when they are grouped according to age. Majority of the respondents had high school education. In terms of employment status, most of them were unemployed mothers; 2) The level of perception of mothers regarding traditional management in their children has a mean average of 2.50 which means that respondents after performed towards their children; 3) Age, educational attainment, employment status showed significant relationship to the tract infection towards regarding traditional management of acute tract infection towards their children, and geographical location showed highly significant relationship in the perception of mothers regarding traditional management. The respondents who were 31 years old and above, with highly secondary education who were unemployed and mostly residing in lowland of Cavite.
