Abstract
The purpose of the study was to describe the experiences of nurses working in prisons of penitentiaries. B.Specific a.The main focus of this study is to deeply understand the unique occurrences and encounters of nurses in the said setting. The grand tour question is: "What are your experiences as a nurse assigned in a prison/jail ward?" ("Anu-ano po ang inyong mga karanasan bilang isang nars na nagtatrabaho sa isang kulungan?") The informants of the study are registered nurses who have chosen correctional health nursing as their field of practice. The informants are working in penitentiaries, and attending to the health needs of the prisoners. And the experiences of the informants in their day to day encounter with their clients, who are the prisoners, were the main focus of this study. It did not limit its informants with regard to age, gender, civil status and their position/rank in the said area and the length of service rendered as correctional health nurses.
