Abstract

The study was primarily undertaken to determine the knowledge and practices on home management of common ailments among selected residents of Barangay Lantic, Carmona, Cavite. B. Specifically, this study aims to determine: a.The profile of the respondents in terms of (a) age (b) gender (c) civil status (d) religion (e) educational attainment (f) monthly family income and (g) occupation. b.The knowledge of the respondents regarding home management on common ailments. c.The practices of the respondents regarding home management on common ailments. d.The significant differences on the knowledge of the respondents regarding home management on common ailments when they are grouped according to age, gender, civil status, religion, educational attainment, monthly family income, and occupation. e.The significant differences on the practices of the respondents regarding home management on common ailments when they are grouped according to age, gender, civil status, religion, educational attainment, monthly family income, and occupation. f.The significant relationship between the knowledge and practices of the respondents on home management on common ailments. g.What home management package can be developed based on the knowledge and practices on common ailments of selected residents of Brgy. Lantic Carmona, Cavite. The study attempted to gather information from selected residents in 4 sitios of Brgy. Lantic Carmona, Cavite namely, Davilan, Agiit, Manggahan and Paligawan Matanda. Respondents were composed of 100 caregivers of patients with common ailments aging 18 years old and above. The inclusion criteria for qualification of the respondents are the following: a.) ages 18 to 66 and above, b.) Male or female, c.) Residents of Barangay Lantic, Carmona, Cavite, d.) Catholic or Non-Catholic, e.) Coherent and could understand, read or write Filipino language, and f.) Willing to participate and answer all of the questions.
