Abstract

This study utilized the quasi-experimental design specifically the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Thirty (30) respondents from Barangay Paliparan III, City of Dasmarinas was allocated as the treatment group and thirty (30) respondents from Barangay Salawag, City of Dasmariñas City, Cavite. Non-probability sampling technique was used in the study and a self-made questionnaire was used as research instrument. Data was analysed using frequency distribution, mean, and t-test. The following conclusions were drawn: (1) most of the respondents were female, high school graduate, married, have a monthly income of Php 1,000.00 to Php10,000.00, have background knowledge regarding Dengue Hemorrhagic fever; (2) the control group and treatment group have high level of knowledge regarding Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever before Health Education Intervention Program,; (3) the Health Education Intervention Program which included the provision of health teaching, lecture, discussion, audio-visual presentation, group quiz bee and picture analysis, was an effective bio-behavioral nursing intervention to further enhance the participant's level of knowledge regarding Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever.
