Abstract
A descriptive non-experimental type of research was utilized in the study. Using purposive sampling, the respondents of the study were both symptomatic and asymptomatic PTB patients enrolled at the TB-DOTS program of Imus 1-A Cavite. The research instrument used in the study was adapted and modified from the study of Sabeniclo, Cesar T. (2005) “The Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS) Chemotherapy or “Tutok-Gamutan.” The statistical treatments that were used in the study were: a) mean; b) t-test and c) f-test. The study concluded that: 1) Most of the PTB patients belong to the group ages of 31-40 years old, 41-50 years old and 51 years old above, male, married, reached high school and self-employed; 2) Social support, patient knowledge and patient-related factors affect the compliance of PTB patients of TB-DOTS program in Imus 1-A Cavite when grouped according to age, gender, civil status, educational attainment and employment status; 3) There were no significant differences between the factors affecting the compliance of PTB patients to TB-DOTS program when grouped according to age, gender, civil status, educational attainment and employment status.
