Abstract

This study utilized a descriptive non-experimental method using convenience sampling. The respondents of the study were limited to 80 nursing students from Batch 2012 of DLSHSI. The research instrument used in this study was a self made tool, which underwent the process for test of validity and pre-testing. Frequency distribution, mean, t-test and f-test are the statistical treatments used. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the selected BSN respondents Batch 2012 of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute were female, Catholic and ambivert; 2) The respondents strongly agree that the professors/teaching styles, classroom environment and family factors can enhance academic performance, whereas, the respondents agree that extracurricular activities can enhance academic performance; 3) There is no significant difference on the perception of the respondents when grouped according to gender and religion while there is a significant difference when grouped according to personality type.
