Abstract

This is a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive method study using purposive sampling. There were 100 respondents included in the study from each year level of Bachelor Science in Nursing of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute. Self-made questionnaire was utilized. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, percentage, mean, t-test and f-test. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents are female nursing students, with a monthly allowance of Php1,000-3,000 or P3,001-6,000, with 2-parent family, lives in own residence and allots 1-2 hours to study; 2) Social activities have low effects to health status of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute; 3) Social activities have low effects to health status of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students of De La Salle Health Sciences Institute; 4) There is no significant difference in the effects of social activities to the health status of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students in terms of gender, monthly allowance, family structure, residence and study hours; 5) There is a significant difference in the effects of social activities to the study habits of Bachelor of Science in Nursing students in terms of study hours. When grouped according to gender, monthly allowance, family structure and residence, there is no significant difference in the effects of social activities to the study habits.
