Abstract
The researchers used a quasi-experimental research design for this study and purposive sampling as the population sampling tool to identify the effectiveness of Online Game-Based Learning (OGBL) on the knowledge of school-age children about COVID-19 safety protocol. Twenty seven (27) Grade 5 students from the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta - Molino Campus were used as the respondent of this study. They were divided into two groups, the treatment and comparison group, and took a pre-test and a post-test to compare the scores to identify if there was a significant difference between the two groups. The study used a questionnaire. Data was analyzed through frequency, independent t-test, mean, paired t-test, percentage distribution and standard deviation. The study concluded that 1. Based on the outcome of the data, the majority of the respondents are male and have a screen time of 4-7 hours a day. 2. The level of knowledge of both the treatment and comparison group about COVID-19 safety protocols was already very knowledgeable before administering Online Game-Based Learning, and after the administration of the OGBL to the treatment group. The level of knowledge of both treatment and comparison groups had increased to extremely knowledgeable. 3. There is no significant difference in the level of knowledge on COVID-19 safety protocols before and after OGBL intervention in the treatment and comparison groups. 4. The level of knowledge on COVID-19 Safety Protocols between comparison and treatment groups before and after OGBL is not significantly different.
