Abstract

The study utilized a descriptive, non-experimental quantitative analytical research design to describe the factors influencing the medication administration competency of DLSMHSI nursing students in batch 2023 and 2024 and to determine whether there is a significant difference in the factors influencing the medication administration competency of the said respondents when they are grouped according to sex and year level. Systematic random sampling was used to choose the 212 respondents. A self-made questionnaire was the instrument used for this study. Data was analyzed through frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation and two sample t-test. Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Majority of the respondents were female and third year students of Bachelor of Science in Nursing at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. 2. The factors that influence the medication administration competency of the respondents were found to be Individual Factors, Educator Factors, and Environmental Factors, which all have great influence on the medication administration competency of the respondents.3. There are no significant differences in the factors influencing the medication administration competency of the respondents when grouped according to sex and year level.
