Abstract

The study employed a systematic literature review as its research design. Fifteen (15) studies were included in the literature review gathered from three (3) databases. Theses studies were then subjected to study quality and risk of bias assessments. Different study assessment tools were utilized, such as the Cochrane methodology for the risk of systematic bias (RoB 2.0), the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) assessment tool, and the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) checklist to critically appraise the studies based on their characteristics. Initial notes were taken from the high quality researchers where codes were identified and clustered into themes. The study conclude that there are various nursing practices on postpartum depression that could yield positive and negative outcomes, as identified in the review. it was observed that there is no full utilization of the perinatal assessment to detect at rick mothers for postpartum depression. These significant interventions and their outcomes are identified as a formulated model that could be used as a bass for the improvements in the nursing practice on postpartum depression.
