Abstract

This study employed the use of correlational quantitative research. Stratified random sampling was utilized to determine the total 288 participants for this study. The research instrument used was a self-made questionnaire. Kruskal-Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U Test were used as statistical treatments of data accompanied by mean, frequency distribution, percentage and standard deviation. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents (a) were 19 years old, (b) were female, (c) had a monthly family income of P100,000 to P249,999 and (d) are currently in their fist year; (2) The respondents have good earing habits; 3) The respondents have good academic performance; 4) Regardless of the respondents age, gender, socioeconomic status, and year level, they have the same eating behavior. No significant differences were found when grouped according to any demographic profile; 5) Regardless of the respondents age, socioeconomic status, and year level, they have the same academic performance. However, there was a significant difference in the academic performance of the respondents when grouped according to gender; 6) There is a significant relationship between eating habits and academic performance of the respondents.
