Abstract

This study was descriptive research, non experimental method. The researchers acquired the number of students per section per year through Slovin's formula for desired sample size. The total number of respondents for the study was 384. Stratified random sampling was used. The research instrument used in the study is an adapted and modified questionnaire. Data was analyzed through percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA. The study concluded that, 1) Majority of the respondents were 18-21 years old, female, regular students and Catholics, 2) Majority of the respondents perceived to a high influence on the effects of peer influence in the academic performance, 3) There was significant difference on the perceived effects of peer influence in the academic performance of nursing students of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute when grouped according to year level; as indicated by a computer p-value of 0.008 at 0.05 level of significance using a 3 degrees of freedom.
