Abstract

The study utilized the descriptive non-experimental research design. A self- made research instrument was used composed of statements regarding challenges and opportunities that may have been encountered by the respondents during the shift from traditional to online classes. The respondents involved in this study were chosen using total population sampling, where all of the faculty members qualified as respondents given that they fit the inclusion criteria set by the researchers. This method was used because the population was small and each of the individual respondents had common characteristics. In the data analysis, the statistical treatments used were frequency distribution, mean, ANOVA, standard deviation, Tukey Honestly Significant Difference, and Independent t-test. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions were obtained: 1) A majority of the respondents were 41 years old and above, married, females, master’s degree graduates or unit earners, have had 11-20 years of teaching experience, have been earning a monthly family income below 60,000 pesos, were assigned to a single year level, received a single administrative support, and perceived themselves as proficient in terms of web conferencing application literacy. 2) The respondents experienced challenges in the transition from traditional to online classes to a moderate extent. 3) The respondents experienced opportunities in the transition from traditional to online classes to a moderate extent. 4) The respondents had an overall positive experience in the transition from traditional to online classes. 5) There are no significant differences in the challenges in the transition to online classes according to age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, years of service, family monthly income, year level assignment.
