Abstract

This study was conceived primarily to identify the most common experiences of the people in Iba, Silang, Cavite about the maternal and child health services of the "Hilots" and Licensed Midwife with regards to their role as health care provider, training/education, performance in birth delivery and fee. The researchers also wishes to find out the most common reason for the selection of the maternal and child health services of the "Hilots" and Licensed Midwife. This study focused on the experiences of the people in Iba, Silang, Cavite about the maternal and child health services of the "Hilots" and Licensed Midwife. Based on the studies made, the researchers can therefore conclude that Hypothesis I was accepted since it was proven that the most common experience of the respondents with regards to the role as health care provider is their role as birth attendant or she is the one called when there is birth delivery. Hypothesis II was also accepted, since it was proven that the most common reason for the selection of the maternal and child health services of the "Hilots" is their low or affordable fee. Hypothesis III was also accepted, since it was proven that the most common reason for the selection of the maternal and child heath services of the licensed midwife is their skillfulness in performing birth deliveries. This result implies that the respondents consider their financial status, the capacities, abilities and knowledge of their chosen birth attendant. The researchers as evaluator can therefore conclude that the judgement or hypothesis made were correct.
