Abstract
This study explored the acceptability of artificial intelligence-enhanced Laboratory Information Systems among registered medical technologists in Dasmariñas City, Cavite. As AI continuously transforms the healthcare system, its use in the laboratory poses a question as to how helpful it actually is and if its advantages outweigh the disadvantages. A total of 101 registered medical technologists working in selected laboratories were surveyed using a physical questionnaire tackling different constructs on the use of AI in the laboratory. Findings revealed that the perception of AI integration is generally acceptable as the majority of the respondents acknowledge that AI may be able to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data handling in the laboratory. However, there are still concerns with regard to the ethical implications of AI along with the readiness of the laboratories to implement this technology.
