Abstract
The colorimetric methods, Folin-Ciocalteu Assay and Aluminum Chloride Assay, were used for the determination of total phenolic and total flavonoid content of the plants. Clausena sanki (perr.) Molino was found to have the highest total phenolic content with 10.29±0.34 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g crude extract. Areca ipot had the highest flavonoid content with 244.78± 4.48 mg quercetin equivalents (QE)/g crude extract. The results of the study shows that the studied endemic plants found in the Philippines are good sources of phenolics and flavonoids.
