Abstract
A case of a 52 year old Filipino male diagnosed as having polycythemia vera with 2 month history of multiple erythematous maculopapular to pustular rashes initially localized on lower extremities eventually becoming generalized in presentation. The diagnosis is based on the character of the lesions, lack of relief from various medications, state of immunosuppression and hispathological findings. this is a rare presentation of a common organism that is usually misdiagnosed and mistreated hence causing prolonged duration of lesions. Patients with hematologic malignancy presenting with cutaneous manifestations should undergo proper work-up to ensure that differentiation of either local or systematic causes of skin lesions be identified for proper and timely intervention.
