Epidemiologic profile of childhood malignancies in DLSUMC from year 2006 to 2011 : a six year study

Abstract
The study is to determine the epidemiological profile of patients diagnosed with childhood malignancies in De La Salle University Medical Center form January 2006 to December 2011. Childhood malignancies composed 6% of the total malignancies. 96 patients were diagnosed with primary cancer and 67 were confirmed and included in the study. Childhood cancer was predominant in mates (61%) and at age 0 to 4 years old (39%). Leukemia was the most common malignancy (63%) followed by lymphoma (10%) then malignant bone tumors (9%).
