Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the clinical profile and outcome of pediatric patients with diabetic ketoacidosis. A chart review of pediatric patients admitted for diabetic ketoacidosis from March 2004-March 2014 at a tertiary hospital. The study concluded that age, sex and family history of diabetes was predisposing factor for patients to had diabetic ketoacidosis. Average duration of hospital stay was 3-5 days.
