Abstract

A case of a 14-year-old male with a history of sudden onset of weakness of bot extremities with rapid progression of sensory deficits, difficulty of breathing, urinary retention and bowel dysfunction. Cervio-thoracolumbar MRI revealed abnormal bright T2 signals involving a continuous segment of the spinal cord at level C3 to C7 vertebrae with hypertense signal involving the transverse diameter of the cord. EMG MCV results show presence of symmetrical neuropathy of both extremities wit signs of demyelination of the motor nerve fibers with axonopathic and acute denervation changes. This report will be discussing the disease's clinical features, diagnosis, incidence, treatment, prognosis and probable outcome.
