Abstract

Metanalysis and systematic review of eight randomized controlled trials. All pregnant women of any gestational age. Multifetal pregnancy and pregnancy women with gestational mellitus will be excluded. Supplementation of Vitamin D among pregnant women regardless of duration and dosage. The study includes trials with Vitamin D supplementation only or combined with other regular prenatal vitamins and minerals. Evidences suggest that Vitamin D supplementation can reduce the risk of preeclampsia. This study encourages obstetricians in our country to add Vitamin D supplementation as pre-natal medication to prevent pre-eclampsia thereby reducing maternal morbidity and mortality.
