Abstract

Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is used to describe abnormally invasive placenta (AIP). Increased prevalence is associated with increasing cesarean delivery rate. Severe and life-threatening maternal complications and mortality can be reduces when women with PAS are managed timely and appropriately. Currently, ultrasonography is the primary imaging tool used to assess PAS antenatally. Accuracy of different sonographic findings have been described in literature. Experts have published consensus statements to standardized descriptions and improve consistency in reporting. This paper presents a case of placenta accreta spectrum pitfalls in sonographic diagnosis.
