Synchronous primary cancers of the endometrium and ovary : a case report

Abstract

A case of a 39-year-old GO who complains of abnormal uterine bleeding and a palpable, solid non-tender, fixed abdominal mass approximately 9x10 cm. in widest diameter, extending below the infraumbilical area more on left. She underwent exploratory laparotomy, peritoneal fluid cytology with resection of ovarian malignancy and total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy with bilateral lymph node dissection and infracolic omentectomy. Hispathology revealed well-differentiated endometrioid carcinoma with squamous differentiation figo grade 1. Tumor confined to the endometrium. Low-grade serous carcinoma, left ovary and no diagnostic abnormality recognized with right ovary and right and left fallopian tubes.
