Abstract

Thirty-one out of 81 cases had laboratory confirmed bacteremia (38.2%). Majority of patients belong to the 51-60 age group (22.6%). The most common cause of ESRD was diabetic nephropathy 58.1%. The majority of the isolated pathogens includes Enterobacter sp. and E. coli. the most common site used for catherer insertion is the internal jugular vein. This study showed a mortality rate of 6.5% percent
