Abstract
Psoas abscess is a rare disorder that is difficult to diagnose. If misdiagnosed or left untreated, this fatal, if not debilitating to the patient. We present a case of primary tuberculous psoas abscess which presented as left lower quadrant and left flank pain causing localized peritonitis. This caused a diagnostic dilemma, however, with prompt treatment and surgical intervention, a favorable outcome was achieved. A review of clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and outcome of patients with psoas abscess alongside our case, is presented.
