This study aims to determine the effects of Rolfing Massage Therapy on the level of pain of clients with myofascial pain syndrome. B. Specific: 1. What is the level of pain of clients with myofascial pain syndrome before and after Rolfing Massage Therapy between those who are exposed and not exposed to the intervention? 3. Are there any significant differences in the level of pain of respondents with myofascial pain syndrome before and after Rolfing Massage Therapy between those who are exposed and not exposed to the intervention? Methodology: This study utilized the quasi experimental design specifically the non-equivalent control group design or the pre-test post-test. The respondents of this study were composed of 40 respondents with an age range of 21 to 40, complaining upper midpoint back and neck pain, with normal range of blood pressure of 100 to 130 mm Hg for the systolic and 70 to 90 mm Hg for the diastolic, do not take anti-anxiety drugs (mental disorders), pregnant, not menstruating (monthly period), don not undergo any kind of cervical and thoracic surgery for less than one year, do not have skin wounds, skin rashes and skin allergy on the upper back, willing to undergo and participate Rolfing massage therapy through signed consent. A purposive or judgmental sampling procedure will be use in this study. The study was conducted at Barangay Bata, Silang, Cavite which is the treatment group and Barangay Kalubkob, Silang, Cavite as control group. The respondents were selected using the criteria set by the researcher. Pior to actual gathering of date, permission was solicited from the Barangay Chairmen of Barangay Batas and Baranay Kalubkob, Silang, Cavite. The data gathering procedure was undertaken from October to November 2009. Level of Myofascial pain syndrome assessment and Rolfing massage therapy was done to the treatment group after pre test and post test. The same process was done to the control group except the Rolfing Massage Therapy intervention. Statistical tests were used to answer the specific problems and to test the hypothesis of this study. These include (a) percentage distribution, (b) mean, (c) t-test and (d) f-test. Percentage distribution was used to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of age, gender, civil status and monthly family income. The mean was used to determine the level of pain of clients with myofascial pain syndrome before and after the implementation of Rolfing massage therapy between those who are exposed and not exposed to intervention. The t-test was used to determine the difference in the level of pain of clients between those who are exposed and not exposed to intervention. The f-test was used to determine the level of pain of the respondents in the control and treatment group before and after Rolfing Massage Therapy according to age, civil status and monthly family income
