Abstract

This study investigated the experience and influence of social media on the selfesteem of Grade 12 students at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute for the school year 2024-2025. Social media plays a significant role in the daily lives of students, shaping their interactions, self-perception, and emotional well-being. Using a qualitative approach, the research employed thematic analysis to examine data gathered from interviews with selected participants. The findings revealed that social media has both positive and negative impacts on self-esteem, emphasizing themes such as peer comparison, social validation, and the pressure to maintain an ideal online image. This study provides insights into the complex relationship between social media use and self-esteem among senior high school students.
