Abstract

Active participation in multiple student organizations is often perceived as a double-edged sword, offering opportunities for personal growth and leadership but it may also affect academic performance. This study investigates how involvement in such organizations impacts the academic performance of senior high school students at De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute during the academic year 2024-2025. The extent to which active involvement in these organizations affects academic performance remains an area of inquiry for the researchers. From the study, it is revealed that joining student organizations positively impacts academic performance by enhancing time management and study habits, while also fostering intrapersonal and interpersonal growth. However, excessive involvement can harm academics, as more time spent in organizations correlates negatively with academic outcomes. Participation builds self-confidence, personal development, and communication skills across all demographics, with longer involvement enhancing these benefits. The findings highlight the importance of balancing commitments to maximize the holistic development offered by student organizations.
