During this time of pandemic, online learning is a real challenge for the students as they are in the process of exploring and adapting to unprecedented circumstances that demand scrupulous planning, effective time management, and working knowledge of independent learning activities. This new normal education requires them to set out efficient time management especially when carrying out these independent learning activities towards achieving academic excellence despite the present condition. Thus, this study specifically aims to describe the individual effective time management in performing independent learning activities among selected Grade 12 senior high school students of De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute for the school year 2020 – 2021. Conversely, 65.80 % of the students are aware that they somehow waste their time instead of adhering to their planned time management. Students also have proper strategy towards independent learning as 28.17 % of them agreed on assignment management. 73.38% of the students scored high on comprehension competence when it comes to the readings assigned to them. Lastly, this study also reveals that the selected students are knowledgeable when it comes to different aspects of independent learning: online learning proficiency (58.04%), technical proficiency (77.67%), and online discussion proficiency (75%).
