Abstract

There are two types of students: those who partake in extracurricular organizations and those who do not. The comparative descriptive study focused on Grade 11 and 12 students in the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute - SHSSHS program. According to the data gathered, students' academic behavior may be internally diverse, but they have a higher margin for a positive outcome in terms of academic capacity. The researchers were able to conclude that there is a significant difference between the academic behavior of students with and without extracurricular organizations based on the results of a distributed survey. Specifically, there is a significant difference between the academic behavior of the students in terms of participation in synchronous classes and interactiveness with classmates during class or group works. This safely suggests that extracurriculars do play a role in one’s academic behavior and it’s even capable of improving it.
