Abstract
To assess the impact and identify the strategies of small scale business owners, we conducted a survey of small scale business owners in Dasmariñas, Cavite. Small scale businesses are one of the most affected due to the COVID19 pandemic, making every business owner change their ways on how to handle their business. Respondents are aged 18 years old above as long as they are residing from Dasmarinas, Cavite and are DTI registered. The study utilized a descriptive-comparative research design. In gathering the data, the researchers used a self-made research instrument, probability sampling method, frequency, percentage, and mean were used. The pandemic greatly affected the supply and demands of products in which it also influenced the prices of it. Based on the gathered data of the study, the negative impact is more dominant pertaining to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on smallscale businesses. Furthermore, the study was able to identify that the present sales figure of the respondents is satisfactory, the number of customers increased during the pandemic, and the negative impact on revenue, order, and workforce are moderate in rating. Lastly, the strategies used by business owners for their business to survive in terms of expanding market with the highest percentage are taking businesses online and investing in innovation.
