Abstract
The researchers prepared fresh siling labuyo with an appropriate amount that will be heading to sun drying, blending, extraction through toluene method and lastly for purification method that is used to obtain a pure capsaicin extract. After securing a pure Capsaicin extract, testing procedures were done through the use of mosquito subjects and appropriate apparatus that contained the proper test subjects and initiated the procedures properly. The results, with 100% solution, for the first trial, a total number of 47 mosquitoes are declared dead via observations and then no survivors left after the second trial. With the 50:50 ratios of capsaicin and H2O, for both trials, there were no survivors. The Capsicum frutescents extracts is an effective ingredient as a mosquitocide. The fifty-percent solution of the extract was more efficient compared to the one-hundred percent extract solution. The data showed that there is an increase mortality rate of the mosquitoes in the fifty-percent.
