Abstract

This study was undertaken to assess the level of knowledge and perception between public and private Senior High School teachers in regard to emotional eating behavior. Through Purposive sampling, 50 respondents were selected to participate in the study, with 25 coming from public school, Dasmariñas Integrated High School and 25 respondents came from private school, De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. Survey questionnaires were administered through Google forms and was distributed to the respondents via email. Based on the data collected, it showed that teachers both in public and private schools are knowledgeable in emotional eating behaviors. Moreover, the results from the test of difference between the level of knowledge and perception of public and private senior high school teachers with regard to emotional eating behaviors both have a p-value higher than the 0.05 alpha level. This indicates that the null hypothesis must be accepted. Data analysis showed that there is no significant difference between the level of knowledge and perception of public and private Senior High School teachers concerning their emotional eating behaviors.
